A devastating road accident in Uganda has claimed the lives of at least 21 people, including 20 schoolchildren and one adult, in one of the country’s deadliest school transportation tragedies in recent years. The heartbreaking incident has shocked the nation and once again raised concerns over road safety standards, school transportation regulations, and emergency response systems.

According to police authorities, the crash occurred while a school bus carrying students was travelling along a highway before it lost control and overturned. Initial investigations suggest that the vehicle may have been involved in a high-impact collision, though officials are continuing to examine the exact sequence of events that led to the disaster.

Children Among the Biggest Victims

Authorities confirmed that 20 children died in the crash, making them the overwhelming majority of the victims. One adult also lost their life in the accident. Several other passengers sustained injuries, with many rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency medical treatment.
