Recent rumors regarding BTS’s supposed involvement in a Michael Jackson tribute album have been decisively addressed by BigHit Music.
The entertainment agency issued an official statement on August 5, clarifying that the internationally renowned K-pop group has no ties to the rumored project honoring the late King of Pop.
The speculation began after The Irish Sun published an article on August 3, alleging that BTS had visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland to record an unreleased Michael Jackson track.
The article further claimed that Jackson had written several unreleased songs during a family retreat to Ireland in the summer of 2006, many of which were supposedly recorded at the Grouse Lodge facility. The studio reportedly confirmed that BTS, along with other international artists, had contributed to the tribute album being developed from those unreleased works.
However, BigHit Music promptly intervened to clarify the situation.
In their official statement, the agency stated:
“Hello! This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We would like to address recent media reports concerning BTS’ alleged participation in a Michael Jackson tribute album. BTS has neither visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland nor taken part in any recording sessions at the location for the mentioned project. The group is not involved in the tribute album in any capacity.”
Reinforcing their stance, BigHit added, “We are continuing to take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of inaccurate information. We express our sincere gratitude to fans for continuously showing support for BTS. We remain fully committed to supporting the artists and their endeavors.”
Currently, BTS members are concentrating on their highly anticipated reunion. With all members having either completed or are actively serving their mandatory military duties, the group is reportedly working on a comeback album, expected to be released by the summer of 2026. Fans around the world are eagerly awaiting their return to the global stage.
