In one of the biggest maritime anti-narcotics crackdowns in recent times, security agencies intercepted a massive consignment of cocaine valued at nearly ₹1,150 crore off the coast of Gujarat’s Mundra region. The operation was jointly carried out by the Indian Coast Guard and the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), highlighting the growing focus on combating international drug trafficking routes through Indian waters.

Officials said the intelligence-driven operation was launched after agencies received specific inputs regarding suspicious maritime activity in the Arabian Sea near the Gujarat coastline. Acting swiftly on the information, teams coordinated a large-scale surveillance and interception mission that ultimately led to the seizure of a substantial quantity of cocaine allegedly being smuggled into India.

High-Alert Maritime Surveillance Led to Interception

According to investigators, the suspected vessel was being closely monitored after intelligence agencies tracked possible links to an international narcotics syndicate operating through sea routes.
