Flights at Dubai International Airport gradually resumed on Monday after a temporary suspension triggered by a drone-related incident that caused a fire near the facility, as per DXB media office.
In a post on X, Dubai Airports said operations at Dubai International Airport were being restored in phases. “Flights to and from DXB are gradually resuming to selected destinations, following the temporary suspension implemented as a precautionary measure,” the operator said.
Earlier in the day, authorities halted flights after a “drone-related incident” sparked a blaze in the vicinity of the airport.
As per reports, the incident affected a nearby fuel tank, prompting emergency services to respond swiftly. The fire was later brought under control, and no injuries were reported.
Officials reportedly said more than 1,800 missiles had been fired at the UAE since hostilities escalated, though the majority were intercepted by the country’s air defence systems.
Tehran has reportedly primarily targeted United States military assets in the Gulf but has also struck civilian sites, including airports, ports, oil facilities and prominent landmarks, following joint strikes by the United States and Israel that reportedly weakened Iran’s military leadership.
