A British man has been arrested over allegedly filming Iranian missiles in Dubai under violating the cyber crime laws of the city, as per reports.
Reportedly, a 60-year-old British tourist who visited the Gulf city for holiday has been detained by the authorities over filming the Iranian Missiles in Dubai. The tourist is said to have deleted the recorded video after authorities asked and reportedly had not bad intent. But, he is now under investigation and his identity is not revealed yet.
Reports state that there were 21 people from different nationalities including British nationals who were arrested in the similar incidents, according to a campaign group detained in Dubai, the organisation which provides legal assistance to individuals in the UAE. The CEO of the organisation stated that this crime looks extremely vague but it is serious on paper.
Under the cyber-crime laws in the United Arab Emirates that prohibits the publishing or sharing material that could disturb public security, if a person commits such crime, could face a minimum 2 years prison and a fine, as per the reports.
The arrest comes amid rising tensions in the region following military exchanges involving Iran, the US and Israel. Since the beginning of Iranian aggression on gulf nations, UAE has engaged 268 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,514 drones attacks.
