The US Department of Justice has announced that no new cases will be filed in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, despite the release of shocking pictures, videos, and emails. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch confirmed this on Sunday, saying that while the files are disturbing, they do not provide enough legal grounds to charge anyone.

The newly released 30-page documents include the names of several high-profile figures, including billionaire businessmen, politicians, and members of royal families, such as Bill Gates and Donald Trump. Blanch emphasised, “There are many emails and pictures that are horrifying, but that does not mean we can file charges against anyone.”

Following the release, Lord Peter Mandelson, a British Labour Party leader, resigned. Similarly, a top Slovakian official stepped down after his association with Epstein came to light. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called on Prince Andrew to fully cooperate with the investigation.

The documents also include emails from Epstein alleging that Bill Gates had relationships with Russian women and a “secret disease”. Epstein reportedly requested antibiotics to be given to Gates’ wife. Bill Gates’ spokesperson has denied these claims, calling them false and baseless. The Gates’ divorce in 2021 had earlier been linked by Melinda Gates to Bill Gates’ relationship with Epstein, though she did not provide detailed evidence.

Jeffrey Epstein was a financier known for his connections to powerful people, including Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, and Prince Andrew. In 2005, he was charged with sexually abusing underage girls in Florida and served 13 months in jail with work privileges. In 2019, he was arrested in New York on sex trafficking charges and was found dead in his cell on August 10, 2019, in what was officially ruled a suicide. Epstein’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2021.

Despite the new files revealing disturbing details, the Justice Department says no new legal action will be taken.
