Trump shared the altered map of  Canada,  Greenland and Venezuela on Truth Social

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday posted an altered map of the United States on his social media platform, Truth Social, depicting Canada, Greenland, and Venezuela as US territories.

Minutes later, Trump shared another image showing himself planting a US flag in Greenland alongside Vice President J D Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with the caption ‘Greenland – US Territory Est. 2026’.

The post came amid rising tension with European allies over Trump’s renewed push to take control of Greenland, which he has described as critical for US national security. Denmark, which holds sovereignty over the Arctic island, has rejected the claim.

Trump has also suggested making Canada the 51st state of the US, a proposal dismissed by Ottawa and followed by strained trade relations. In Venezuela, Trump recently claimed the US would ‘run’ the country after President Nicolás Maduro was captured in a US-led operation, marking the first time Trump has made an explicit territorial claim over the South American nation.

The Truth Social posts have triggered sharp reactions from allies, with critics warning of serious diplomatic consequences.
