Ahmedabad Murder Case: Man Found Buried Beneath Kitchen Floor After Year-Long Disappearance

A shocking murder case has come to light in Ahmedabad where the skeletal remains of a man, missing for over a year, were found buried under the kitchen floor of his own house. The case has left the entire Fatewadi area stunned and has been compared to a “Drishyam-style” murder due to the calculated manner in which the crime was committed and covered up.

According to police officials, the victim was identified as Mohammed Israil Akbarali Ansari, also known as Sameer Bihari, a mason originally from Bihar’s Siwan district. He had been living in Ahmedabad for several years with his wife, Ruby alias Priya, and their two children. Ansari had gone missing about a year ago, but his wife had told neighbours and relatives that he had either gone back to his native place or had left for overseas work.

For months, no missing person complaint was filed, and the case remained unnoticed until the police received specific information hinting at foul play involving Ruby and another man, identified as Imran Vaghela, believed to be her lover. Acting on the tip, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch began investigating the case and detained Imran for questioning.

During interrogation, Imran confessed to killing Ansari and revealed that the body was buried beneath the kitchen floor of the victim’s house. Following his confession, police dug through the kitchen platform of the residence and discovered skeletal remains hidden under layers of concrete. The remains have been sent for forensic examination and DNA testing to confirm identity.

Investigations have revealed that the murder was pre-planned. The victim was allegedly attacked and killed after a heated argument with his wife and her lover. The accused then dug a pit beneath the kitchen floor, placed the body inside, and cemented over it to erase all traces of the crime. After sealing the site, they tiled the area and continued living in the house for months as if nothing had happened.

Police officials said that the motive behind the crime appeared to be the ongoing extramarital relationship between Ruby and Imran. The victim had reportedly opposed their affair, leading to frequent quarrels between the couple. Investigators believe that the wife and her lover decided to eliminate him to live together freely. Two of Imran’s friends are also suspected of helping conceal the crime and have been arrested. Ruby and one more accomplice are absconding, and efforts are underway to trace them.

Residents of the Fatewadi area have expressed shock over the gruesome crime, saying they never suspected anything unusual. Some recalled that renovation work had taken place in the house around the time of Ansari’s disappearance, which now appears to have been linked to the burial.

Forensic experts have collected bones and samples from the spot to determine the time and cause of death. Police have also recovered evidence indicating that the accused used building materials to reconstruct the kitchen floor immediately after the murder.

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has registered a case of murder, criminal conspiracy, and destruction of evidence. Officials are now examining call records, financial transactions, and digital footprints to piece together the full timeline of the crime.

This chilling case has once again highlighted the need for timely reporting of missing persons and stronger vigilance in domestic dispute cases. What began as a simple disappearance has turned into a disturbing tale of betrayal, deceit, and brutality — a murder literally buried beneath a kitchen floor.

The investigation continues, and police say more arrests are likely as the case unfolds.
