Delhi Court to Decide on Charges Against Lalu, Rabri, Tejashwi in IRCTC Scam on October 13

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court is set to deliver its order on October 13 regarding the framing of charges against RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Yadav, son Tejashwi Yadav, and others in the IRCTC scam case. The court has directed all the accused to appear personally on the day of the hearing.

The case pertains to alleged irregularities in awarding contracts for the maintenance and operation of two IRCTC hotels during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure as Union Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009.

The CBI has accused Lalu, Rabri, and Tejashwi of fraud, criminal conspiracy, and corruption, alleging that the tender process was manipulated to favor Sujata Hotels Private Limited.

According to the CBI chargesheet, between 2004 and 2014, BNR hotels in Puri and Ranchi were transferred from Indian Railways to IRCTC and later leased to Sujata Hotels.

Former IRCTC group general managers V K Asthana and R K Goyal, along with directors Vijay and Vinay Kochhar of Sujata Hotels, and Delight Marketing Company (now Lara Projects) have also been named as accused in the case.

The accused have contended that the evidence presented by the CBI is insufficient to proceed.
