In an unusual incident in New York, French President Emmanuel Macron had to wait on the streets due to a traffic halt caused by former US President Donald Trump’s convoy.
Security personnel reportedly asked Macron to pause until the motorcade passed. Amused by the situation, Macron immediately called Trump to inform him about the unexpected hold-up and jokingly said, “How are you? Guess what, I’m waiting in the street cause everything is frozen for you.”
Following the phone call, the streets were cleared, although Macron still had to walk approximately 30 minutes to reach his destination.
A video of the incident, shared by @brutamerica on Instagram, shows Macron walking with his officials while passersby stopped him to take photos, and in one instance, a man even kissed him on the forehead. The interaction quickly went viral on social media.
