Bengaluru Woman Stabbed to Death by Husband in Front of Teenage Daughter at Bus Stand

Bengaluru: A 32-year-old woman was tragically stabbed to death by her husband in front of her teenage daughter at the Sunkadakatte bus stand on Monday morning, police reported.

The couple, both on their second marriage, had been married for only three months. Preliminary investigations indicate that marital discord may have been the motive behind the crime.

According to authorities, Rekha, who worked at a call centre, was accompanied by her 13-year-old daughter when a heated argument with her husband, Lohitashwa, escalated at the bus stand.

Bystanders tried to intervene, but Lohitashwa brandished a knife, stabbing Rekha multiple times in the chest and stomach. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot, with her daughter witnessing the horrific incident.

Both Lohitashwa, a cab driver, and Rekha had met through mutual friends and married after a year and a half of courtship.

The couple resided in a rented house near Sunkadakatte, with Rekha’s elder daughter from her first marriage living with them, while her younger daughter stayed with her parents.

Reports suggest the couple frequently quarreled since their marriage.

Police have registered a murder case at Kamakshipalya Police Station and are actively searching for the suspect, who remains at large.
