Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Arunachal Pradesh on Monday, September 22, where he will unveil infrastructure projects worth nearly ₹5,000 crore, marking a major boost to the state’s connectivity, energy, and development sectors.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive at the Donyi Polo Airport in Hollongi around 9 a.m., followed by a helicopter ride to Raj Bhavan in Itanagar. Later, he will proceed to Indira Gandhi Park to lay foundation stones, inaugurate projects, and address a public rally.
A key highlight of the visit will be the foundation stone laying for the Tato-I and Heo hydropower projects in Shi Yomi district. The 186 MW Tato-I project, costing ₹1,750 crore, is expected to generate 802 million units of electricity annually.
Similarly, the 240 MW Heo project, with an investment of ₹1,939 crore, is projected to produce 1,000 million units per year. Both projects will be developed jointly by the Arunachal Pradesh government and NEEPCO.
In addition, PM Modi will inaugurate a world-class convention centre in Tawang, constructed under the PM-DevINE scheme at a cost of ₹145.37 crore. With a seating capacity of over 1,500 people, the centre aims to boost tourism and cultural exchange in the region.
The Prime Minister will also launch multiple projects worth over ₹1,290 crore, spanning connectivity, health, fire safety, and other key sectors. These initiatives are expected to significantly improve infrastructure, enhance quality of life, and spur economic growth in Arunachal Pradesh.
Governor KT Parnaik, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, and other dignitaries are scheduled to attend the event. Security arrangements in the state capital have been tightened ahead of the visit.
Ahead of the PM’s arrival, indigenous priests performed traditional rituals in Itanagar, praying for his good health and continued visits to the state.
Priest Hari Taro expressed hope that Modi’s frequent visits would bring more opportunities and help Arunachal move closer to becoming one of India’s most developed states.
