Bengaluru: Karnataka’s capital city woke up to a rainy Sunday morning after heavy showers lashed the city through Saturday night. Cloudy skies are expected to persist throughout the day, keeping temperatures mild and pleasant.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature is likely to hover around 21°C while the maximum may reach 27°C. The city saw sunrise at 6:09 AM and will witness sunset at 6:17 PM.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for several regions of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka, warning of possible heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) also shared a seven-day forecast on X (formerly Twitter), stating that scattered to widespread moderate rain and isolated heavy showers are likely today, while rainfall activity is expected to gradually decrease in the coming days.
Bengaluru’s Air Quality Index (AQI) remains satisfactory at 39, with humidity levels hovering around 41%, making the air feel damp after rainfall.
Authorities have warned that heavy rain could cause temporary power disruptions, traffic congestion, and uprooting of weak tree branches. Residents are advised to stay indoors and keep windows and doors securely shut during storms.
