Emotional Moment in Bhavnagar: Child Cries After PM Modi Accepts His Portrait

A touching incident took place during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bhavnagar, Gujarat, on Saturday. While addressing a public gathering, PM Modi noticed a young boy in the crowd holding a hand-drawn portrait of him.

Concerned that the child had been holding it for a long time, the Prime Minister asked the organisers to collect the sketch.

As security personnel took the portrait, the child grew emotional and burst into tears. Reassuring him, PM Modi said, “There’s no need to cry, your picture has reached me. If you’ve written your address, I will surely write a letter to you.” He further expressed that the affection of children is one of the greatest treasures in life.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi held a massive roadshow in Bhavnagar, where thousands lined the streets waving tricolours and chanting slogans. In a warm gesture, the Prime Minister also returned the salute of a child who greeted him during the event.

At the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several key development projects worth over ₹34,200 crore.

This included maritime initiatives of nearly ₹7,870 crore, such as the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock, aimed at boosting India’s port and cruise infrastructure.
