Ghafoor Was Always a Promo: Makers Clear the Air Amid Speculation

Aryan Khan’s highly anticipated directorial debut, Ba**ds of Bollywood*, premiered on Netflix worldwide on September 18 and quickly became one of the most talked-about releases of the year.

However, soon after its release, fans noticed the absence of Tamannaah Bhatia’s much-publicized song, Ghafoor, which had been widely promoted as a highlight of the series.

Speculation quickly spread across social media, with many assuming the song had been cut from the show at the last minute. Addressing the buzz, the makers of the series, Red Chillies Entertainment, issued a clarification on X (formerly Twitter),

stating: “#Ghafoor – Promotional Video Out Tomorrow.” The production house confirmed that the Tamannaah Bhatia track was always meant to be a standalone promotional video rather than an in-show performance.

Interestingly, a shorter, alternate version of Ghafoor does feature in the series, but the full-scale performance will be released separately as a promotional music video.

Originally scheduled to drop on September 15, the release was delayed and is now expected shortly after the show’s launch.

Ba**ds of Bollywood* is co-written by Aryan Khan, Bilal Siddiqi, and Manav Chauhan.

The seven-episode series dives into the glamorous yet dark side of Bollywood and features a stellar ensemble cast including Lakshya, Bobby Deol, Anya Singh, Manoj Pahwa, Sahher Bambba, Raghav Juyal, and Mona Singh.
