Prayagraj: A major accident was narrowly avoided on Wednesday after a speeding Mahindra Thar lost control and collided with a divider on the Kanpur–Varanasi National Highway near Shringverpur in the Nawabganj area.

The high-impact crash caused the SUV to spin multiple times on the rain-soaked road before regaining control.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. The entire sequence was captured on a CCTV camera installed outside a roadside shop.

The footage shows the Thar approaching at high speed, hitting the divider, spinning several times, and then driving away. A truck is seen at a distance, highlighting how a collision with another vehicle could have turned the situation into a major tragedy.

Authorities have urged drivers to maintain safe speeds, particularly during rainy conditions, as such accidents could prove fatal if another vehicle had been close behind or if the SUV had overturned in the middle of the highway.

In a separate incident from Uttar Pradesh, a disturbing video from Ghaziabad’s Sihani Gate area shows a speeding black Thar ramming into a woman walking on the road.

The CCTV footage reveals that the impact was so severe that the woman was thrown several feet into the air before landing on the road, sustaining serious injuries. The video has sparked outrage on social media, with calls for strict action against reckless driving.
