India Elected to INTERPOL Asian Committee at Singapore Regional Conference

Singapore: In a major diplomatic and strategic achievement, India has been elected as a member of the INTERPOL Asian Committee during the 25th Asian Regional Conference held in Singapore on September 19, 2025.

The election was conducted through a multi-stage voting process and marks a significant milestone in India’s growing engagement with international law enforcement cooperation.

The INTERPOL Asian Committee plays a crucial role in advising the Asian Regional Conference on its mandate, identifying regional priorities in the fight against organized crime, cybercrime, human trafficking, terrorism, and drug trafficking.

It also facilitates deliberations by providing a clearer understanding of the strategic and operational issues impacting the region.

India’s inclusion in the Committee is expected to boost regional security collaboration and strengthen coordinated policing efforts across the Asia-Pacific region.

This achievement underscores India’s commitment to the Global Policing Goals and its proactive role in shaping international security strategies.

India was represented at the Singapore conference by a delegation from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Officials credited India’s victory to a well-coordinated campaign led by Indian diplomats, embassies, high commissions, and the National Central Bureau (NCB-India), who secured support from key partner nations through sustained bilateral and multilateral outreach.

The Committee will now meet annually to deliberate on regional security challenges and develop joint action plans for member countries.
