Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) & MNS Stage Protest Over Road Blockages, Nashik Rally Highlights Public Anger

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) staged a joint protest at Sindhu Bridge on Thursday, opposing police barricades that were obstructing traffic and causing inconvenience to residents, traders, and commuters.

The protestors demanded the immediate removal or relocation of the barricades, which were subsequently shifted to the side of the road, easing traffic flow.

Several party leaders participated in the demonstration, including Shiv Sena Division Chief Santosh Shinde, Women’s Division Organiser Yugandharatai Salvi, MNS Vice President Arvind Gavde, and Sub-Division Officer Vaibhav Shinde.

Office-bearers from South Mumbai, along with Shiv Sainiks, MNS workers, and members of the Women’s Front, actively took part in the protest.

In a related incident, Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS jointly organized a public rally titled Jan Aakrosh Morcha in Nashik on Friday, following the alleged murder of Rahul Dhotre in Panchavati. The rally saw massive public participation, reflecting widespread outrage over the incident.

Addressing the crowd, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut questioned the whereabouts of former BJP corporator Uddhav Nimse, who is reportedly absconding.

He remarked, “Where has former corporator Uddhav Nimse gone and why is he not found? When one of your former corporators is on the run after committing a murder, he meets Minister Girish Mahajan. If the state’s Home Minister does not know who is protecting him, then you are unfit to rule.”

Raut further stated, “This is a Janakrosh Morcha. When public outrage reaches the streets, events like those in Nepal or Bangladesh happen. This march is a warning. The reasons for the public’s anger in Nashik—corruption, misappropriation of government funds, rampant drug trade, and addiction among youth—are the same reasons people have taken to the streets here.”
