AIMIM Chief Owaisi Criticizes BJP Over NCERT Syllabus Change, Denies Muslim Role in Partition

Hyderabad: AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over changes in the NCERT syllabus, accusing the party of falsely blaming Muslims for India’s Partition.

Speaking to reporters, Owaisi said, “BJP has changed the NCERT syllabus and held Muslims responsible for the Partition. We are not responsible for the Partition.

Savarkar was the first to raise the slogan of Partition, Mountbatten was responsible, and the Congress government of that time was responsible. How are we responsible for Partition?”

Owaisi also alleged that the reference to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination by Nathuram Godse has been removed from the syllabus. “You have also removed from NCERT the reason why Mahatma Gandhi was killed by Godse,” he added.

The controversy comes after NCERT introduced new modules on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, naming Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Congress leadership, and then Viceroy Lord Mountbatten as key figures responsible for India’s Partition.

Earlier, Assam Assembly Deputy Speaker and senior BJP leader Numal Momin compared Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to Muhammad Ali Jinnah, claiming, “Rahul Gandhi is the new avatar of Jinnah. His ideology is dangerous for the country as he tries to malign India’s image abroad and divide the nation.”
