Bengaluru Weather Update: IMD Issues Yellow Alert, Heavy Rain Predicted in Parts of Karnataka

Bengaluru is set to experience light rainfall and cloudy skies on Friday, September 12, 2025, as the Southwest monsoon becomes active across Karnataka. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures in the city have dropped sharply, with the minimum and maximum expected to hover around 21°C and 27°C, respectively.

The city saw sunrise at 6:09 AM and will witness sunset at 6:26 PM. The IMD said the combination of rain and cloudy weather will keep conditions mild and pleasant throughout the day.

The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) issued a weather report on X (formerly Twitter), forecasting “scattered to widespread moderate rain with heavy showers at isolated places along with thundershowers and strong winds” in the north interior districts until September 14. Very heavy rain has been predicted at isolated locations on September 13.

Humidity levels are expected to hover around 91 percent, making the air feel damp, particularly after rainfall. The weather department has warned of minor traffic disruptions, uprooting of weak trees, and temporary power outages. Residents have been advised to stay indoors and keep windows and doors shut.

For Saturday, September 13, the city is expected to witness heavier rainfall, with temperatures likely to range between 20°C and 26°C.
