Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday awarded free two-wheelers to students who topped the Class 12 board examinations in government schools across the state, celebrating their academic excellence under the Free e-Scooty/ICES Scheme.
This year, a total of 7,832 meritorious students from various districts were recognized for their achievements in the 2024-25 academic session. During the event in Bhopal, the Chief Minister even rode as a pillion passenger on a scooty driven by one of the top-performing students, Harshita Yadav, highlighting the personal connection and encouragement offered to students.
Over a dozen students received their scooties directly from the Chief Minister in the presence of several state ministers.
Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav urged students to remain focused on their studies while assuring full government support. “Students in Madhya Pradesh government schools need not worry.
Concentrate on your studies and achieve your goals. The state government will provide all assistance. Apart from scooties and laptops, financial support will also be extended to those pursuing education in foreign universities,” he said.
He further encouraged students to aspire to become job creators rather than job seekers, thereby making their families and the state proud.
The Free e-Scooty/ICES Scheme has been operational since the 2022–23 academic session, with previous beneficiaries including 7,900 students earlier this year.
Eligibility for the scheme extends to students who have studied as regular candidates in government higher secondary schools managed by the School Education Department or the Tribal Affairs Department and have topped their Class 12 examinations in any stream.
In addition to the scooties, CM Yadav announced a transfer of Rs 61 crore via Direct Benefit Transfer to the bank accounts of 20,37,439 girls from Classes 7 to 12 as part of the sanitation and hygiene initiative under ‘Samagra Shiksha’.
Each girl student will receive Rs 300 annually to support personal health and hygiene, further reinforcing the state government’s commitment to holistic student development.
