In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves across the nation, prominent conservative activist Charlie Kirk, 31, was fatally shot while speaking at a student gathering at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
Kirk, the co-founder and CEO of Turning Point USA and a close ally of former President Donald Trump, was struck in the neck by a single gunshot and died instantly during a live question-and-answer session at the Sorensen Center courtyard.
The tragic moment, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, shows Kirk holding a microphone and engaging with students under a tent featuring slogans such as “The American Comeback” and “Prove Me Wrong” before suddenly clutching his neck as blood poured out, causing panic and chaos among attendees.

Just moments earlier, Kirk had been responding to a question about mass shootings and gun violence, which further intensified the shock of the attack. Authorities have confirmed that the shooter remains at large, with Orem Mayor David Young stating that an individual briefly detained on campus was cleared of involvement.
The motive for the shooting has not been publicly disclosed, and investigators from multiple agencies, including the FBI and local police, are actively pursuing leads.
Kirk’s visit had already drawn controversy, with nearly 1,000 people signing a petition to cancel his appearance over his polarizing views, but the university upheld its commitment to free speech and allowed the event to proceed. President Trump confirmed Kirk’s death in a Truth Social post, calling him “Great, and even Legendary” and praising his connection with America’s youth.

Trump also ordered American flags nationwide to be lowered to half-mast and urged citizens to pray for Kirk’s family, calling his death a devastating loss to the conservative movement and the country.
