Bengaluru Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorms Expected on Thursday

Bengaluru: The Karnataka capital is set to experience moderate to heavy rainfall on Thursday, September 4, 2025, as the Southwest monsoon becomes increasingly active. Cloudy skies are expected throughout the day, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 21°C to a maximum of 27°C. The city is expected to witness sunset at 6:29 PM, while high humidity levels around 91 percent will make the air feel damp, especially after rainfall.

The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) shared a seven-day weather report on X (formerly Twitter), warning of scattered to widespread light to moderate rain accompanied by strong winds across the state. The rainfall may cause temporary power disruptions, minor traffic congestion, and the uprooting of weak tree branches. Residents are advised to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed.

The Southwest Monsoon, which typically occurs from June to September in South Asia, brings heavy rainfall due to a seasonal reversal of wind patterns. During this period, winds shift from land to sea and sea to land, carrying moisture that results in significant rainfall across the region.
