PM Modi Slams Congress, RJD for ‘Abusive’ Remarks Against His Mother in Bihar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday strongly criticized the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for allegedly using abusive slogans against his mother during a rally in Bihar. Addressing around 20 lakh women via video conferencing, the Prime Minister expressed deep anguish, stating that the remarks were not only an insult to his mother but to every woman in the country.

“Mothers are our pride and our world. I never imagined such an incident could happen in tradition-rich Bihar,” PM Modi said emotionally. He added that the abusive slogans raised from the RJD-Congress stage had hurt the sentiments of the people of Bihar. “As much pain as I have in my heart, the mothers of Bihar are feeling the same pain,” he noted.

Taking a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Modi said he could not understand the pain of a poor mother as he was born in a privileged family with a silver spoon. Modi further accused Congress and RJD of having a mindset that insults women and considers them weak, pointing out that during RJD’s rule in Bihar, crimes like murder, ransom, and rape were rampant, and women suffered the most.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi virtually launched the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh Limited in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The controversy erupted after a viral video from Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’ in Darbhanga showed people allegedly shouting abusive slogans against the Prime Minister and his mother. The incident has sparked a major political row ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, with the Election Commission yet to announce the poll schedule.
