Jodhpur Madrasa Teacher Accused of Molestation Caught on CCTV, Goes Into Hiding

Jodhpur: A madrasa teacher in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur, accused of exploiting people under the guise of black magic, went into hiding after a video showing him engaging in obscene acts with a woman surfaced on social media.

The man, who also runs a bookstore in the Ghantaghar Cycle Market area, reportedly used his spiritual persona to lure and manipulate locals. Following the video’s circulation, residents protested outside his shop, which was found locked, and his mobile phone has been switched off since the incident came to light.

Police from Sojati Gate station, led by in-charge Manak Lal Vishnoi, confirmed that the video began circulating online the same evening. “He runs a bookstore in the Hathi Ramji Ka Oda area and teaches in a madrasa,” Vishnoi said. No formal complaint has yet been filed by the victim, and police have stated that a case cannot be registered until someone comes forward.

However, authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have warned that action under provisions related to disturbing public order may be taken if allegations are verified.

Locals say the accused, often referred to as “Baba,” gained notoriety by luring people into superstitious rituals and vashikaran practices. Residents expressed concerns that other such videos may exist, while the accused remains untraceable.

Police have urged any potential victims or witnesses to come forward, with further action dependent on formal complaints and evidence collected during the investigation.
