Mumbai witnessed a significant political and cultural moment on Sunday as BJP national president JP Nadda visited the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh pandal to offer prayers and seek blessings for the nation’s progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Nadda, accompanied by Maharashtra minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, state BJP president Ravindra Chavan, Mumbai BJP chief Ameet Satam, and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, expressed his privilege to participate in the Ganeshotsav celebrations and to listen to the monthly Mann Ki Baat broadcast in the city.
Speaking to reporters, Nadda highlighted Lord Ganesh as the deity of wisdom and intellect who removes obstacles in life. Reflecting on the festival’s historic significance, he recalled that Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak had initiated public celebrations of Ganeshotsav in 1893, transforming it into a cultural and social platform that played a crucial role in uniting people during India’s freedom movement. “It has now completed 133 years,” he noted, emphasizing its enduring relevance.
During the visit, Nadda also went to the residence of CM Devendra Fadnavis, where he performed Ganesh pooja and sought divine blessings alongside Fadnavis and his family. The BJP leader underlined the party’s vision for a self-reliant and prosperous India, stating, “Under PM Modi’s leadership, we are moving towards a Swadeshi-oriented, strong, secure, and developed Bharat. I sought the blessings of Lord Ganesh to remove obstacles and strengthen us to achieve these goals.”
With Ganeshotsav celebrations in full swing across Maharashtra, Nadda’s visit symbolized the cultural and political outreach of the BJP during one of the state’s most important festivals, blending devotion with a message of national progress and unity.
