Hyderabad: Superstar Allu Arjun’s grandmother, Allu Kanakaratnam, passed away on August 30 at the age of 94 due to age-related ailments. The family gathered in Hyderabad to perform her last rites, which took place at Kokapet.

Heartbreaking videos from the funeral have surfaced on social media, showing Allu Arjun alongside his uncle, megastar Chiranjeevi, carrying the bier during the procession.

Actor Ram Charan, who was shooting in Mysuru, immediately flew to Hyderabad to join the grieving family. Videos show him embracing Allu Arjun and other family members in emotional moments of mourning. Close relatives, family friends, and well-wishers from the film industry also attended the funeral to pay their respects.

Allu Kanakaratnam had previously been seen offering emotional support to Allu Arjun, notably in December 2024, when he returned home after spending a night in jail related to the Sandhya Theatre stampede case. The family has yet to release an official statement regarding her passing.
