Polish F-16 Fighter Jet Crashes During Airshow Rehearsal, Pilot Killed

A Polish Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed on Thursday during an airshow rehearsal in Radom, central Poland, resulting in the death of the pilot. Deputy Prime Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz confirmed the tragic incident, describing it as a “great loss for the Air Force.”

A video circulating online shows the jet performing a barrel-roll maneuver before plummeting to the ground and erupting into a fireball. The aircraft, engulfed in flames, skidded several meters along the runway.

In a post on social media platform X, Kosiniak-Kamysz paid tribute to the fallen pilot, highlighting his “dedication and great courage” in service to the Fatherland. He expressed his condolences to the pilot’s family and loved ones, emphasizing the impact of the loss on both the Polish Air Force and the broader military community.
