Bus Driver Dies of Suspected Heart Attack While Driving Near Pali, CCTV Captures Tragic Incident

Jodhpur: A 36-year-old bus driver, Satish Rao, tragically died after collapsing inside a moving bus near the Desuri area of Pali district on Wednesday, August 27. The bus, traveling from Indore to Jodhpur, was equipped with CCTV cameras that captured the driver’s final moments.

According to initial reports, Rao began feeling unwell about 15 kilometres before the incident near Kelwa–Rajnagar. Recognizing his condition, he handed over the steering to his co-driver and took a seat beside him, ensuring the vehicle continued safely on its route while they sought medical assistance.

CCTV footage shows Rao sitting cross-legged next to the driver when he suddenly fainted and slumped forward. Passengers rushed to assist, while a woman seated nearby appeared frozen in shock.

Rao was immediately taken to Desuri Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Medical authorities suspect he suffered a silent heart attack. Colleagues and passengers attempted emergency measures, including chest compressions and leg massages, but he remained unresponsive.

A resident of Bhojasar in Jodhpur, Satish Rao’s family has reportedly refused any official inquiry or post-mortem. Authorities have praised Rao’s actions for preventing a potential road accident by stepping away from the wheel when he sensed a decline in his health. No passengers were harmed during the incident.
