Mumbai actress Pooja Bhatt recently raised her concerns over the deteriorating condition of Mumbai roads, particularly in the Bandra area, through her social media account. Highlighting the issue of potholes, she questioned why major roads had been blocked for months in the name of repair while remaining in poor condition.

Pooja wrote on her X timeline, “The city of Mumbai, especially Bandra, is in a very bad condition. Potholes everywhere. Is this why the majority of the roads were shut or blocked for months on end in the guise of repair work? When will this apathy end?”

Several Mumbaikars supported her concerns in the comment section, expressing disappointment over the prolonged roadblocks and substandard infrastructure. One user noted that despite ongoing road concretisation efforts, the work is only halfway done and is expected to be completed by May 2027.

Another commented on the disparity between Mumbai’s status as India’s financial capital and the poor state of its infrastructure.

Many highlighted issues of substandard construction and corruption, pointing out that frequent rebuilding benefits contractors and politicians while the public continues paying taxes without receiving quality infrastructure.

Criticism also extended to misplaced civic priorities, with funds spent on beautification projects instead of essential road repairs and drainage maintenance.
