Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep condolences over the loss of lives caused by cloudbursts and heavy rainfall in various parts of the country, describing nature’s fury as a serious challenge for humanity and the nation.
Addressing an event in Ahmedabad, the Prime Minister highlighted that several regions of Gujarat have also been severely affected by incessant rains. He assured that relief and rescue operations are being carried out with full force by the central and state governments.
“In this monsoon season, many areas of Gujarat are witnessing heavy rains. The frequent cloudbursts across the country have created massive devastation. I offer my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. This fury of nature has become a challenge for the entire human race, the entire world, and the whole nation. The central and state governments are fully committed to relief and rescue efforts,” PM Modi stated.
Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand have recently experienced flash floods triggered by cloudbursts, adding to the severity of the monsoon havoc.
During his Gujarat visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated, laid the foundation stone, and dedicated several development projects worth ₹5,400 crore at Khodaldham ground in Ahmedabad. He also held a roadshow and expressed joy over the Ganesh Utsav celebrations across the country.
“With the blessings of Ganpati Bappa, several development projects have been launched for Gujarat today. It is a privilege for me to dedicate these projects to the people of the nation,” he added.
PM Modi’s two-day visit to Gujarat commenced on Monday and includes multiple events focusing on infrastructure development and state welfare.
