New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has invited nominations for the National Youth Award (NYA) 2024, according to an official statement released on Monday. The award aims to motivate young individuals aged 15 to 29 to contribute to national development and social service, fostering a sense of responsibility and good citizenship.

The National Youth Award is conferred during the National Youth Festival and is presented in two categories — Individual and Organisation. Each year, up to 20 awards are given to individuals and up to 5 to organisations, although the number may vary at the discretion of the sanctioning authority in deserving cases.

Awardees in the individual category will receive a medal, a certificate, and a cash prize of ₹1,00,000, while voluntary youth organisations will be awarded a medal, a certificate, and ₹3,00,000 in prize money.

Nominations for NYA 2024 can be submitted online via the official portal, with the deadline extended to September 30, 2025. The ministry encourages individuals and organisations who have demonstrated outstanding work in areas such as health, research and innovation, culture, promotion of human rights, art and literature, tourism, traditional medicine, active citizenship, community service, sports, academic excellence, and smart learning to submit their applications before the deadline.
