Overexcited Fan Kisses Rahul Gandhi During Bike Rally, Security Breach Sparks Concern

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi faced a major security lapse during his motorcycle rally in Bihar’s Purnea district when an overenthusiastic supporter managed to kiss him before being restrained by security personnel. A video of the incident, which quickly went viral, shows the fan being slapped by Gandhi’s bodyguard before being escorted away from the rally route.

The security breach occurred during Gandhi’s ongoing ‘Voter Rights Yatra,’ where he was riding a bike with Bihar Congress President Rajesh Kumar as a pillion passenger. The rally was attended by numerous Congress and Mahagathbandhan leaders, along with hundreds of supporters on motorcycles.

Social media users have widely shared videos and images from the rally, pointing out multiple lapses in security. One user wrote, “There were several breaches during Rahul Gandhi’s bike rally. People were easily getting close to him, hugging, kissing, and even pulling his hand while he was riding. There weren’t enough security personnel to control the crowd.”

The motorcycle format of the rally posed additional challenges for security forces, as foot-patrolling officers struggled to keep up with the moving convoy. Viral clips from the event show large crowds surging toward Gandhi’s motorcycle with minimal intervention from security, sparking concerns over the adequacy of protection for a high-profile leader.
