Noida: In the Greater Noida dowry murder case, an old video has resurfaced on social media showing accused husband Vipin Bhati allegedly caught with another girl inside a car in Delhi in 2024. Nikki’s father, Bhikhari Singh, revealed that Vipin was involved in an illicit affair, and the viral footage shows him being beaten after being pulled out of a white WagonR while the girl remained inside the vehicle.

Vipin and Nikki married in December 2016, and reports suggest that he often harassed her and demanded dowry. Despite receiving a Scorpio car and other dowry at the time of marriage, Vipin later demanded an additional ₹60 lakh and showed interest in Nikki’s father’s Mercedes.

Nikki’s sister, Kanchan, and other family members alleged that Vipin was an alcoholic and frequently physically assaulted her. On August 21, after a violent altercation, Vipin allegedly set Nikki on fire. She suffered severe burn injuries and succumbed to her injuries during treatment at Safdarjung Hospital.

Nikki sustained around 70% burn injuries. Initially treated at Fortis Hospital, she was referred to Safdarjung Hospital due to deteriorating condition, where authorities pronounced her dead. The deceased’s family members protested outside Kasana Police Station demanding justice. Vipin was later arrested after being shot in the leg.

A video from the hospital shows Vipin claiming he had not killed Nikki, stating, “I have no remorse. I haven’t killed her. She died on her own. Husband and wife often have fights, it is very common.” The case has sparked outrage over domestic violence and dowry-related crimes.
