Man Who Opened Fire at Elvish Yadav’s Gurugram Home Arrested After Police Encounter

Faridabad police have arrested one of the two men involved in the recent firing at YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav’s house in Gurugram, following an encounter on Friday morning. The accused, identified as Ishant alias Ishu Gandhi, allegedly fired more than six rounds at the Faridabad Crime Branch team using an automatic pistol during the encounter. Police retaliated, shooting him in the leg before arresting him and taking him to a hospital for treatment. Officials confirmed that the accused is a resident of Jawahar Colony in Faridabad.

The firing incident occurred on August 17 when three masked men arrived on a bike outside Elvish Yadav’s residence in Sector 56, Gurugram, and fired at least 25 bullets at the property around 5:30 am. At the time, Yadav was out of Haryana for work, but family members and a caretaker were inside. Fortunately, no one was injured.

CCTV footage showed two of the attackers opening fire, pausing briefly—presumably to reload their weapons—before continuing the attack and fleeing the scene. Hours after the incident, the Himanshu Bhau gang, allegedly led by fugitive gangster Himanshu Bhau based in Portugal, claimed responsibility in a social media post, accusing Yadav of promoting gambling and issuing warnings to others engaged in betting. NDTV, however, could not verify the authenticity of the post.

Following the incident, Elvish Yadav took to Instagram to reassure fans of his safety, stating: “My family and I are safe and well. Your kind thoughts and concern are truly appreciated.”
