Harmanpreet Kaur to Lead India in Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, Shafali Verma Left Out

India on Tuesday announced their 15-member squad for the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, with Harmanpreet Kaur named as captain. Star batter Smriti Mandhana will serve as vice-captain for the marquee event. However, the major surprise came with the omission of young opener Shafali Verma from the squad. The team includes wicket-keepers Yashtika Bhatia and Richa Ghosh, while Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, and Jemimah Rodrigues have all secured spots. The bowling attack will be led by Renuka Singh Thakur, supported by Arundhati Reddy, Kranti Gaud, Amanjot Kaur, Radha Yadav, and Sneh Rana. Sree Charani also features in the squad, adding depth to the bowling unit.
