Nawazuddin Siddiqui Opens Up About Daughter Shora’s Honest Criticism and Family Struggles

Acclaimed Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, known for his powerful performances and unconventional roles, recently offered a rare glimpse into his personal life. In a heartfelt interview with The New Indian, he spoke about his daughter Shora, who he says keeps him grounded with her blunt honesty and fearless attitude.

Currently studying in Dubai, Shora doesn’t treat her father like a superstar. Nawazuddin fondly shared, “I’m very close to my daughter. I scold her sometimes, but I love her deeply. She’s brutally honest — a moohphat. She’s never been star-struck by me. She openly criticizes me and hasn’t even watched most of my films. She keeps me humble, and that’s a blessing.”

Despite his widespread acclaim, Nawazuddin admitted that balancing his career and family life has been a consistent challenge. His demanding schedule often meant he couldn’t always be present at home — an issue that has been part of public discussion, especially with his wife Aaliya Siddiqui speaking about it in the past.

Reflecting on this, the actor said, “It’s crucial to acknowledge family responsibilities, but not everyone can strike that balance. When someone becomes deeply immersed in their work and creativity, they often fall short at home — and that’s true for me.”

Married in 2009, Nawazuddin and Aaliya have two children — daughter Shora and son Yaani. Despite the hurdles, the actor’s candid revelations portray him as a man still evolving, both as an artist and as a father. His honesty about personal shortcomings resonates with many who juggle career and family, offering a relatable dimension to his larger-than-life image on screen.
