Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani starrer War 2 hit the big screens on Thursday and despite receiving mixed to negative reviews from critics and audiences, the film managed to deliver a strong start at the box office. On day one, the movie collected ₹52 crore (all languages), followed by ₹57.35 crore on day two, taking its total to ₹109.35 crore in just two days.
However, the third day (Saturday) might witness a dip in collections. Early estimates suggest that War 2 could earn around ₹20-25 crore on Saturday, which is significantly lower compared to its opening days. If evening and night shows perform better, the figure could touch ₹30 crore, making the three-day total approximately ₹130-140 crore.
As for competition, Rajinikanth’s Coolie is currently leading with ₹119.75 crore in two days, while War 2 stands at ₹109.35 crore. The big question remains whether War 2 can regain momentum on Sunday to close the weekend on a strong note.
Meanwhile, The Free Press Journal rated the film 3 stars, stating, “For those invested in the YRF Spy Universe, this is a decent but not standout chapter. For others, it’s an overstuffed action entertainer that shines in moments but ultimately misses the knockout punch.”
