PM Modi declares compensation for the victims of the Dausa road accident

New Delhi: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each individual who lost their life in the Dausa road accident, along with Rs 50,000 for those injured.

The Prime Minister conveyed his sorrow over the tragic loss of life and extended his condolences to the grieving families.

In a message posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister’s Office stated, “Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in an accident in Dausa, Rajasthan. Condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi.”

As reported by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ravi Prakash Sharma, 11 individuals from Etah in Uttar Pradesh perished in the collision involving a pick-up truck transporting devotees from Khatu Shyam Temple and a trailer truck near Bapi village. The death toll increased to 11 after one of the injured individuals passed away in the hospital.

DSP Sharma stated, “The total death count of the accident between a passenger pick-up and a trailer truck near Bapi now lies at 11 after one person admitted to the hospital succumbed to their injuries.”

In the meantime, Rajasthan Minister Kirodi Lal Meena remarked that multiple accidents had occurred at the same location and urged the Centre for assistance in reconstructing the area.

“Such a significant incident is quite rare… Numerous accidents have taken place at the site of this incident. We request that the central government allocate funds for the reconstruction of this location,” Kirodi Lal Meena expressed.
He also expressed gratitude to the district administration and medical personnel for their prompt response to the injured individuals involved in the accident.

The Rajasthan Minister added, “Doctors are diligently caring for the injured. The Chief Minister is aware of the situation. I thank the district administration and doctors for their thorough care of the injured people.”
