On Wednesday, eleven individuals, including women and children, lost their lives, while more than six others sustained injuries when a pickup truck collided with a container near Bapi village in Dausa, Rajasthan.
Reports indicate that among the deceased are three women and seven children. Initial accounts suggest that the vehicle crashed into a container truck, leading to the immediate fatalities of ten individuals.
Upon receiving the report, police rushed to the scene and transported the injured to a nearby hospital, where another woman succumbed to her injuries, increasing the death toll to eleven. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for autopsy.
All victims were from Uttar Pradesh and were returning from visits to the Khatu Shyam and Salasar Balaji Temples when the accident occurred in the Sainthal police station jurisdiction.
Hearing the crash and ensuing chaos, nearby residents came to assist and contacted the police and ambulance services.
Once notified, police arrived at the scene, and all injured individuals were taken to the trauma unit of the district hospital. Due to the severity of many injuries, additional medical personnel were summoned.
District Collector Devendra Kumar and Superintendent of Police Sagar Rana also arrived at the scene and the hospital to gather information about the incident.
Preliminary reports indicate that all deceased individuals were residents of Etah district in Uttar Pradesh. An investigation is currently in progress, and further information is pending.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his sorrow regarding the incident, stating, “The news of the loss of life in a horrific road accident in Dausa is extremely tragic. The district administration has been instructed to ensure prompt and proper treatment for the injured.”
He added, “May God grant a place at His divine feet to the departed souls and provide speedy recovery to the injured.”
