Mumbai: Actress Shehnaaz Gill’s much-anticipated Punjabi film ‘Ikk Kudi’ is set to hit theatres on September 19. The actress shared this exciting news on her social media platform.

“#IkkKudi, the story of every girl. Coming to cinemas near you on 19th September,” she posted on Instagram, revealing the film’s title and its release date.

Shehnaaz also mentioned that her film will be released globally under the esteemed banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The filmmaker himself announced the news on his Instagram story.

As per the post, ‘Ikk Kudi’ has been penned and directed by Amarjit Singh Saron. Shehnaaz, along with Saron and Kaushal Joshi, is producing the film.

It is being produced under the banners of Raaya Picturez, Amor Films, and Shehnaaz Gill Productions.

With Shehnaaz Gill in the lead role, the film is anticipated to present a female-centric narrative about a young girl’s challenges with marriage. The creators also released a poster of ‘Ikk Kudi’, featuring the actress in a state of confusion.

Soon after, fans inundated the comment section with congratulatory notes and expressed their enthusiasm for her upcoming acting venture.

Shehnaaz first announced the film in November of the previous year, sharing images from the initial day of filming. “Embarking on a new journey today and feeling incredibly proud and happy to share that we are starting the shooting of my Punjabi film with my dream team,” she wrote in her post.

In the photos, she was seen with veteran actor Nirmal Rishi, dressed in a simple salwar kameez.

Throughout the years, Shehnaaz Gill has appeared in movies such as ‘Honsla Rakh’, ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, and ‘Thank You For Coming’. She initially gained popularity during her time on Salman Khan’s ‘Bigg Boss 13’, where her bond with the late actor Sidharth Shukla garnered significant affection.
