Encounter breaks out in Dual area of J&K’s Kishtwar

On Sunday morning, security forces engaged in a gunfight with terrorists in the Dul area of Kishtwar, as reported by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps.

In a message posted on X, the White Knight Corps indicated that troops involved in an intelligence-driven operation made contact with terrorists in the region.

“Indian Army troops, while executing an intelligence-based operation, have established contact with terrorists in the general area of Dul in Kishtwar during the early hours of 10 Aug 2025. Gunfire was exchanged. The operation is ongoing,” stated the White Knight Corps. The operation remains in progress.

This encounter follows the tragic loss of two soldiers, Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh, who were killed in action during an operation in Kulgam district of South Kashmir. The Chinar Corps paid tribute to their bravery and commitment.

“Chinar Corps honors the ultimate sacrifice of the Bravehearts, L/Nk Pritpal Singh and Sep Harminder Singh, while serving the Nation. Their bravery and dedication will always inspire us. The Indian Army extends its deepest condolences and stands in solidarity with the grieving families. The operation continues,” the Army’s Chinar Corps posted on X.

To date, one terrorist has been neutralized in the Kulgam operation, which took place during a gunfight in the Akhal area nearly a week ago. The encounter, which persisted overnight, involved the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and the Special Operations Group (SOG).

In a previous update, Chinar Corps stated, “OP AKHAL, Kulgam. An intermittent and intense firefight continued throughout the night. Alert troops responded with calibrated fire and tightened the noose while maintaining contact.”

Additionally, in the Poonch sector on July 30, White Knight Corps troops neutralized two terror operatives who were attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control.
