New Delhi: On Saturday, the Delhi Traffic Police released a traffic advisory due to a wall collapse beneath the Masoodpur Flyover close to Vasant Kunj.
The Traffic Police recommended that commuters heading from the Mehrauli area towards Mahipalpur take an alternate route via Aruna Asaf Ali Marg—starting from Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kunj—to reach Mahipalpur and bypass the affected area.
“Please adhere to the instructions of the traffic police officers stationed in the vicinity,” they stated on X.
Delhi experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday, with regions such as Vasant Kunj, RK Puram, Connaught Place, and Minto Bridge facing significant downpours. Waterlogging was reported at Panchkuian Marg due to the persistent rain in the National Capital since early morning.
Rainfall affected parts of Delhi-NCR, causing traffic to halt near AIIMS. Slow-moving vehicles and congestion were observed near the Barapullah bridge following the heavy rain in the national capital. Numerous areas in Delhi are inundated after the intense downpour.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a “thunderstorm with rain” for Saturday. The maximum temperature is anticipated to reach 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is expected to be 27 degrees Celsius. According to the IMD, Delhi will continue to experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms until August 12.
