Mumbai: Raksha Bandhan has arrived, and Bollywood is alive with sibling affection! Akshay Kumar, who has a particularly strong bond with his sister Alka Bhatia, offered fans a delightful glimpse into their festivities this year.
The actor took to Instagram to share a photo of the two during the Rakhi ceremony. In the image, Alka is seen performing aarti for her brother, who is seated in front of her dressed in a dark grey shirt and a black beanie. Alka looks stunning in a yellow traditional outfit.
Alongside the picture, Akshay included a caption that said, “Aankhein band hai, toh maa dikh rahi hai. Aur aankhein khol kar teri smile. Love you Alka. Happy Rakhi,” accompanied by a red heart emoji.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s wife, Warda Khan Nadiadwala, also participated in the celebration and shared another photo with Akshay.
Her caption stated, “Long live my brother @akshaykumar wishing u abundance of health wealth love success, may u always stay protected from every envious evil eyes ….. And may the envelope on my Rakhi Thaali get heavier and heaviest ……..Happy Raksha Bandhan everyone.”
Akshay maintains a close relationship with his sister, who is married to real estate mogul Surendra Hiranandani.
In the upcoming months, Akshay will appear in Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla. This film is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R. Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, in collaboration with Akshay Kumar’s own production company, Cape of Good Films. The theatrical release is scheduled for April 2, 2026.
Additionally, he has ‘Haiwaan’ lined up with Saif Ali Khan, which will be directed by Priyadarshan. The filming for ‘Haiwaan’ is anticipated to start in August, with the producers aiming for a significant release in 2026. Saif and Akshay last shared the screen in ‘Tashan’, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, which was released in 2008.
