A disruption in a third-party data network caused check-in systems at Mumbai airport to fail on Saturday, resulting in delays for several airlines, including Air India.
In a statement on X, Air India mentioned, “The outage of a third-party data network has affected check-in systems at Mumbai airport, leading to delays in flight departures for various airlines, including Air India. The systems have been restored, but some of our flights may still experience delays as the situation gradually returns to normal.”
Authorities at Mumbai airport confirmed the network failure impacting operations and stated that contingency plans had been put in place to address the issue.
In response to a passenger inquiry, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) posted on X, “We are currently experiencing a network failure throughout the airport. Contingency measures have been activated, and our core team is working to resolve the issue. We are operating in manual mode to reduce disruptions. We appreciate your understanding during this time.”
Airport officials and airline personnel are collaborating to facilitate passenger movement and minimize additional disruptions.
