Two coaches of the Muzaffarpur–Sabarmati Jan Sadharan Express (Train No. 15269), operating from Muzaffarpur to Ahmedabad, derailed near Bhaupur station, between Kanpur and Tundla in Uttar Pradesh, on August 1, 2025, at approximately 4:12–4:15 PM. Thankfully, the train was moving at a slow speed at the time, and no injuries or casualties have been reported .
Railway officials confirmed that the derailment occurred at loop line 4, point 4 within the Bhaupur yard, involving the 6th and 7th coaches from the rear (guard brake van side) of the train. Panicked passengers reportedly jumped down from the coaches after hearing a loud noise when the wheels came off the tracks. Railway senior officials and emergency teams swiftly arrived at the site to render assistance and coordinate response efforts .
An Accident Relief Train has been dispatched to the site, and work is underway to restore the derailed coaches back onto the track. While operations continue unabated on the down line, the cause of the derailment is still under investigation.
