British man stabbed in East London

A British Sikh man, Gurmukh Singh, also known as Gary, was tragically stabbed to death on July 23 in Ilford, East London. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident in an official statement.

Emergency services were called to a residential address in Ilford following reports of an altercation. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, Gary succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was remembered by his family as someone who had a “remarkable ability to connect with everyone he met”.

Police have arrested Amardeep Singh, 27, from Redbridge (IG3), on suspicion of murder. He was formally charged and appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, where he was remanded in custody. His trial is scheduled to begin on January 5, 2026.

In connection with the incident, detectives also arrested a 29-year-old man and three women aged 29, 30, and 54. All four have been bailed until October 2025 as investigations continue.

The case remains under active investigation.
