OTET Exam Leak: Educator from Rayagada Taken in Custody, Crime Branch Expands Investigation

The Odisha Crime Branch has apprehended a teacher from Ambadola in the Rayagada district regarding the suspected leak of the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper. This teacher is reportedly linked to Dangarbori Primary School.

The Special OTET exam, which was set for July 20, was unexpectedly cancelled just hours prior to its commencement after images resembling Papers I and II appeared on social media platforms including WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. This abrupt decision disrupted the plans of nearly 75,000 individuals aspiring to become teachers.

Officials from the Crime Branch are currently exploring various leads and have initiated questioning of suspects across multiple districts. While the detained teacher is under scrutiny, there has been no official confirmation regarding their involvement as of yet.

In light of this incident, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has transferred six officials on July 26. Authorities have promised to take stringent action against those accountable and are actively working to enhance security measures surrounding such examinations.
