A video featuring a couple ignoring traffic regulations on a busy road in Pune has sparked outrage online due to their blatant disregard for safety.

The now-famous clip depicts the couple riding a motorcycle through Pune’s traffic, with the woman perched on the petrol tank, embracing the rider from the front. Neither of them is wearing a helmet.

The video, apparently recorded by a pillion passenger on a following bike, provides a view over the shoulder of another rider who is also without a helmet. At one moment, the woman on the petrol tank tries to recline, her feet lifted in the air, while the motorcycle continues to navigate through heavy traffic.

This is not the first instance of such behavior making headlines. A previous video from the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway had gone viral, showing another couple in a similar position on a motorcycle, again without helmets, and embracing each other while speeding down the expressway.

That incident elicited strong reactions online and resulted in the Noida Traffic Police issuing an e-challan of Rs 53,500 to the motorcycle owner, citing multiple violations under the Motor Vehicles Act. In that case as well, the motorcycle’s number plate was clearly visible in the footage.

As of the time of writing this article, relevant authorities have not provided any official statement regarding the Pune incident.
