Air India flight for Mumbai returns to Jaipur shortly after takeoff due to technical issue

Jaipur: An Air India flight traveling from Jaipur to Mumbai had to return to the airport just 18 minutes after takeoff due to a reported technical issue. According to the information available, flight AI-612 departed from Jaipur airport at 1:35 PM and returned at 1:58 PM.

In recent months, Air India flights have encountered various technical problems and glitches. Earlier this week, an Air India Express flight en route to Doha from Calicut International Airport also had to return a couple of hours after takeoff because of a technical snag.

An official from Air India Express later stated that flight IX 375 was carrying approximately 188 individuals, including crew members. It took off from Calicut International Airport at 9:07 AM but returned at 11:12 AM after reporting a technical issue. The official mentioned that the emergency landing was a “precautionary measure” due to the technical glitch.

“There was a technical problem with the aircraft’s cabin AC. It was not an emergency landing,” the official explained. “In the meantime, all necessary arrangements, such as food and water, have been provided for the passengers at the airport.”

In a similar incident reported late Wednesday night, another Air India Express flight traveling from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to Mumbai had to abort its takeoff due to a technical issue.

According to an official, the decision to abort the takeoff was made by one of the pilots who noticed a glitch in the cockpit displays. “We apologize for the inconvenience and want to emphasize that safety is our top priority in all operations,” the official stated.
